ESMA CERINAN OTOVIĆ

Esma Cerinan Otović is one of the founders and president of the NGO Fit Woman Montenegro. Assistant lecturer in digital marketing at the Faculty of Management Herceg Novi, University of Adriatic Bar, Montenegro.

As a full scholarship holder, she is currently a doctoral student at the Faculty of Economics and Business, in the field of marketing at the University of the Mediterranean in Montenegro, and is also a Ph.D. candidate at the Łódź University of Technology, Poland (Politechnika Łódzka), at the Faculty of Economics and Business in the field of digital management and international business research.

She is a scholar from Montenegro in the fields of Economics, Communication Science, Artificial Intelligence, Digitalization and Marketing. She is a  versatile professional with over 15 years of experience in certificated language instruction, business consulting, and marketing & communication. Proven ability to manage projects, lead teams, and develop effective marketing strategies. Expertise in digital communication, social media management, and content creation. Adept at working with multinational teams and cross-functional teams.

She received a Master Degree (M.Sc.) in 2015, after successfully defending the master thesis  in the department of Communication Studies- New Media and Society in Europe at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Vrije University in Brussels. In addition, she worked as a project associate in an international NGO where she was able to visit important institutions such as the Council of Europe, the European Parliament. She was also involved in organizing numerous youth training courses, student exchanges and other activities aimed at fostering youth activism and promoting European values. Coming from Izmir (Turkey), in the same city, in 2013 she graduated from the Advertising department at the Faculty of Communication Science, Ege University. Thanks to the Erasmus Student Exchange Program, she spent one year in Utrecht, the Netherlands by studying at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences, the department of International Communication and Media. During her stay she worked as a television journalist at a local TV station in Rotterdam.

After several years in Istanbul, working in international companies in positions related to the development of business, marketing and digital marketing, she decided in 2017 to move to Herceg Novi, Montenegro,  the home country of her husband. After working for several years in a construction company as an Administrative and HR Manager in Herceg Novi (Portonovi),  in 2023 she founded a consulting firm specializing in language and legal expertise, simplifying communication and ensuring compliance in administrative, real estate and legal matters, where she also helps clients with translations into Turkish, English and local languages in Montenegro and the region.

 

Being multilingual in Montenegrin (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian) and Turkish in addition to English,  in addition to providing official translations at the main court of Montenegro, she also teaches Turkish at the Ivan Goran Kovacic High School in Herceg Novi, holding a diploma and certificate from Istanbul University in teaching Turkish as a second language.

As a citizen of this beautiful country Montenegro, in this  beautiful city Herceg Novi,  she lives with her husband, daughter and son,  she is delighted with all that offered by this city and the rest of the Boka.

Esma sees herself as a person who takes care of a healthy and active life, supports women’s entrepreneurship, believes that women should be more involved in social events, advocates the promotion of conceptuality.
